NCS17: Mara Magic Adventure Safari [5 days safari]
Itinerary:
DAY 1: NAIROBI - NAIVASHA VIA MT. LONGONOT
We will come and pick your from your hotel, and depart by 0730hrs for the Mara via the old escarpment road. Before heading out of Nairobi, we will stop over at a convenience store so that you may but your desired drinks and drinking water. Enroute, we will stop over at the Rift Valley view point where you will be able to take loads of pictures of the scenery. We will then descend into the Rift Valley and cross over towards Naivasha. Just before arriving at Naivasha, we will stop over at Mt. Longonot, where you will have a chance to climb the mountain. After the climb, you will have your lunch at the base of the mountain after which we will head to Hell's gate park. Upon reaching the park, we will stopover at the various rock faces and also take you for a hike into the gorge. We will then head to camp for dinner.
DAY 2: NAIVASHA - MAASAI MARA
After breakfast, we will pack up and depart for Maasai Mara. Enroute, we will stop over at a town called “Mai Mahiu”, where you could have a little stretch and break before we head out across the floor of the Rift Valley to Narok town. This is the last major town that we will cross before heading out into the Mara. Pending on the time that we leave for Mara and the number of breaks that we have enroute, we should be in the Mara by early afternoon. We will have a game drive enroute, as we head towards camp where we will have a late lunch. After setting up camp and freshening up, we will head out for an evening game drive at 1600hrs to return to camp at 1830 for some evening tea and dinner.
DAY 3: MARA, WHOLE DAY GAME DRIVE
We start off the day early with a wake up call at 0600hrs. After a quick cup of tea, we depart for our early morning game drive at 0630hrs to seek out the big cats amongst the other vast variety of wildlife in the Mara. We will then return to camp at 0930hrs for breakfast. After freshening up, we will depart towards late morning for a picnic lunch on the Mara River and a whole day’s game drive. We will return to camp at 1830hrs for tea and followed by dinner.
DAY 4: MARA - WALKING SAFARI & EVENING GAME DRIVE
We start off the day early with a wake up call at 0600hrs. After a quick cup of tea, we depart for our morning walking safari at 0630hrs. At 0700hrs, you will be taken to the drop off point, along with the maasai trackers. We will pick you up at 0930hrs from the pick up point and bring you back to camp for breakfast. After breakfast, we will spend the afternoon at camp and also have lunch here. In the late afternoon, at 1600hrs, we will depart for our evening game drive and return to camp at 1830hrs for tea and dinner. After dinner, you will be entertained with traditional Maasai dances by the campfire. One of the Maasai dancers will also talk to you about their cultural practises.
DAY 5: MARA - NAIROBI
After breakfast, we will pack up and head out of the camp. You will have a game drive enroute to the park gate and we will then head back to Nairobi with a short stop over in Narok. In “Mai Mahiu” town, we will stop over once again for a picnic lunch and then head back into Nairobi to wind up a camping safari well spent. We will then drop you off at your hotel in Nairobi, winding up your camping safari holiday to Mara.
