About The Expedition
The Corporate Initiative Expedition is a 2 nights, 3 days expedition to Hell's Gate National Park in Naivasha. It is geared towards enhancing the caliber of the members of an organization through leadership training, management development and team building activities. The activities conducted during the expedition are carried out on an individual basis, team basis and at a group level. This enables an individual to develop his/her character all round thus becoming efficient and effective in his/her job designation; resulting in the formation of an organization that conducts its business successfully.
During the Expedition, the corporate group is divided into equally numbered teams. These teams are called "TRIBES" and are named after various animals found in Kenya. The Tribe is an individuals sense of identity and belonging, and the members of a tribe will be working, living and socializing together throughout the Expedition. Camp allocation is also done on a tribal basis with each tribe setting camp and carrying out activities on its own. The concept behind behind forming "TRIBES" is to eliminate tribal barriers and stereotypical beliefs amongst ethnic groups within an organization. this is achieved by forming "TRIBES" with members from various racial and ethnic origins.
Each "TRIBE" is provided with an activity folder that contains instructions about the expedition and its activities. The folder is a guideline for the TRIBES to conduct their activities during the course of the expedition. Every individual in the Expedition is also given a folder containing writing material, a breakdown of the expedition activities and how the activities during the expedition can enhance one's character. At the end of the expedition, one will have developed the skills on how to:
